Came Accross A Deal I Couldnt Pass Up (5.3l)

Got A Motor And Harness Out Of A 01 Silverado With 59k Miles On It....

Never Played Around W/ The Injection Stuff Before But Kinda Curious To Make A Low Buck Beater W/ Fi.
Was Told As Long As I Have All The Sensors And Harness And Brain All I Would Really Have To Do Is Run A Prog Like Ls1 Edit. Sound Right?

Another Ting Is I Have No Idea What To Put Htis In..... I Was Thinking Meybe A S10pu? Not Sure. Like A 92ish Square Style.... Not Sure.

Anybody Got Any Ideas For This? Im Open For Any Suggestions On Anything. This Is Kinda A Open Project.

Any Input At All Would Be Great On This Matter.

s10 would be a great swap if you can live with the smaller interior of the truck . as long as everything is there it should be fairly easy to get going. plan on running all custom gauges though as the ones in the truck wont work with the new motor very easily .I put a ls1 in my buddys 67GTO and it really wasnt to to bad to get in there. as for gettting it run, that was tit

for tuning software id go EFIlive before edit. alot more precise and better software with more options.

pending you already have a laptop i believe in the 450-750 range with a single vin cable .

http://efilive.com/ efilive actully allows 2 vins with there base pkg

http://carputing.com/ <--- ls1edit

or just get it all together and you can have a tuner setup the computer for you

edit is the way to go it has a special program for boosted aplications. What are you going to put it in a Mazda? They are great platforms for those motors.

you sure its edit and not efi live ;)

efi live has maf, speed density, 2bar (up to 15lbs boost)boost reference, 3bar (up to 30lbs boost)boost referance, custom operating systems. lot of choices.
not to mention the autoVE option which makes it a breeze to get the car dialed in

i know edit had a boost referenced table but nowhere near capable of what efi live can do . thats one huge reason we dont even use edit anymore

opps I ment to type Live my bad I was going to start out by stating edit may not be able to tune that pcm.

EFI-LIve has the custom operating system for boosted and Nos aplications not edit

and a Mazda is what I would put that in if your looking for something fast to drive those little cars screw with ls1's inside.

Well, EFI Live and LS1Edit are kinda two completely different approaches to the GM PCM. EFI Live replaces the firmware with its own, hence its capable of doing whatever the hell it wants at that point. LS1Edit just modifies the existing tables.

An analogy?

LS1Edit is like bolt ons
EFI Live is like stuffing a big block in.

yes

check out efilve,s websight they have the software free to download and it's the same system used with the cable it just needs a cable connected to take it out of demo mode. show your buddy that you know the software comes with easy to folow tutorials that makes it easy to get use to the system.
