First bike was a 1971 or 73 Kawasaki F7 175 on/off road bike. bought off a 58 year old guy that stored it in his heated garage since new for $300 when i was 10 years old
then i bought a 1993 Yamaha Blaster when i was 12 for $1500 off of a 42 year old guy Bone Stock, i still have the stock tires on the thing.
Dec 8th 98 i when i was 13 i bought and paid for brand new a 1999 Kawasaki KX125 from MTR motorsports in woonsocket. rode the bike every single day for 3 months after i bought it right through the winter.
This is the bike that i broke a piece of my lower jaw bone with my 4 middle teeth off, went back and got lodged in the back of my mouth. the remaining jaw bone went clear through my skin right under my lower lip. i lost one bottom tooth and 1/2 of a top tooth. all caused from jumping over a road near my house, came down on the front tire. my helmet (full face) slammed into the cross brace on the bars, helmet kicked back and broke my face.
after i rode home, i had my friend take this pic.

The only thing with less than 4 wheels I have ever owned is a 1976 Honda MT125. It was the biggest piece of shit EVAR but it was really my first experience with starting with nothing and making something out of it. The thing had a cracked block and didn't run. lol, listen to yourselves, your comparing 600's and 750's to a ducati 999........why? :sleep:Why not jap bikes own power to wieght Okay here some 1/4 times right from a reputable mag.
Duc 999 ('03) 4/03, 10/03 10.29 @ 133.65 MSRP $17,995
Honda CBR600RR ('04) 8/04 10.68 @ 128.5 MSRP $8799
Suzuki GSX-R600 ('04) 6/04 10.58 @ 130.5
GSX-R750 ('04) 8/04 10.36 @ 135.4
Now go up to the jap liter bikes...
Honda CBR1000RR ('04) 6/04 10.16 @ 142.1
Suzuki GSX-R1000 ('04) 6/04 9.96 @ 144.7 MSRP $10,849

Yes but would you pick a souped up honda or toyota or a ferrarri or a maserati? Honestly dude.
it's all dependant on riding preference, style and bank book..
as mike stated above price for raw power and bragging #'s the jap bikes have a fairly solid lock on those catagories.. however if you've got the $ and want the prestige that goes with owning an italian
built sport bike.. then more power to ya...

Yes but would you pick a souped up honda or toyota or a ferrarri or a maserati? Honestly dude. True....but your other post was about which bike would smoke which..Jap has that hands down..Personaly for the 18 g's new I would take a new busa' and turbo it..Deff doesnt need one...But it would be a hell of a bike..Always been something I wana do..It's a comfy crotch rocket with some balls

when you own either, let us know
honestly, this is like me critisizing a porche. ive seen one many times and i know the owner, but ive never driven it or owned it, so my opinion means shit.
i appreciate a decent debate, but on a track, the 999 will get its ass handed to it in most cases compared to a jap bike. you're spending a lot of money on the pussy factor.

thats a fuckin sick car.
i dont believe he is going with a turbo'ed model, unless he comes upon one in his price range. have you ever driven a 911? even his 911 with the N/A 2.7L fuckin screws for a 30 year old car.
he is just looking for a car with an interior, radio, heat, etc. the creatur comforts. him and my grandmother go for weekend adventures ALOT. up north to NH, vermont, maine, etc. to check out vacation spots for the family. and they either take teh porsche or impala, so he wants something a lil more comfortable.

to an extent, yes.
I have been to the shop that does the repairs on my grandfathers car. RenSport in Framingham a few times. he has a prosche (i dont recall the model) that is straight from Germany. It was a special order for a Prince in Africa that got sent back to the factory due to legal concerns. it was bought by a person in this area and imported in pieces as a parts car to the country (to avoid the emmisions testing)
it had a 3.5L (if i recall correctly) twin turbo intercooled, factory fender flares, 315/35/18 series rear tire, 200+MPH car. i saw it just sitting there with no motor, transaxle, etc and it was just sex on wheels. they were waiting on the motor and transaxle to arrive in the country so the car could be assembled, tuned, and driven.

That shop is awesome. My buddy gets ALL his work done there. Went there one day. One of the guys having a car worked on there, drove in with an F50, smoking a cigar.

Renne (sp) the black guy that does all the mechanical work, DEFINATELY knows his fucking shit. he is the ONLY person my grandfather trusts to touch his car. its a hole in the wall, just proves that you dont need a million dollar shop to turn out quality work.
FWI, my father grew up in a house about 1000 feet from that shop.
