they are making this because they miss the power of the 5.7 liter v8 of the caprice that went out of production in 1996

Thats pretty quick for a cop car. If you think about all the stuff that is put inside of those cars, the computers and all that junk..I'd say thats fast. They shouldn't have any trouble keeping up with most people :smokin:

The thing is that the V10 really isnt all that great of a motor. Ask anyone who really knows and they'll tell you that the V8 will always be a better motor because of the geometry of it. I guess this must be true because I read it in a carcraft mag once.irishboom:cheers:germantoy

I guess you didn't see the smilie in my reply to you. I got the sarcasm and gave it back too you. :) As for the Powerstroke, they are about another $4-5k, which is more than I wanted to spend.

NED sounds cool, run on a test and tune night, grudge style maybe. Let's say 4000 lbs or more (if the Impalas and Caprices weigh that much). I'm still pretty slow, stock and all that, but a few of my pals can fly. We got a 13.5 N/A dude nearby, maybe some of the blown boys will show. I went to the Southern Super Heavyweight shootout last month, all had fun. Good set up down there, run by one of the local SS clubs. I think some "Yankees" made the trip down. I just happened to be working nearby so it wasn't a long haul for me. I'll see if any interest is generated about a similar event up here.
