Ok so me, glen, denis, and some friends from work headed out to the burnouts out in Braintree today. It was actually a pretty good time considering it was the most unorganized meet I've ever been to. We got kicked out of this distribution center parking lot twice in 2 hours but after the second time we met in this other parking lot right under the highway.
we then got word that we were meeting at an industrial park somewhere in Canton. When I finally got there, not too much was goin on. There were some 4 wheelers that were out screwin around, but noone burnin out. So, this kid starts commin up to people trying to set up races. He set glen up with an Impala SS that unfortunately smoked him.
So just as we were about to leave, I was getting in my car and a kid comes runnin over and says "hey this your car?" I said yeah. So he asked me if I wanted to race something..... at this point lookin around at all the other cars I was like "ummm what" and he says "the SHO or the EVO" I said that they should race and Id take winner. It was gettin late and I had to be home...this kid was trying to find the owner of both cars to get them to race. I then pulled up to him and said "listen, we gotta get goin. just find the SHO owner or something" So he did. Turns out it was a chick. So as I was pulling around the lower 1/2 of the lot to watch some other races, that same kid comes runnin over and says "she wants to know what youve got in here, cuz if its not stock shes not runnin ya"
I was like "it doesnt matter what Ive got....3rd gear is toasted" He goes "oh well...pfft. ok"
So we get in and line up. neither of us have either raced before like this...with noone shouting go or anything...kinda sucked. someone shouted go and I went. she didnt.
I was like oooook, backed up and finally this kid says "ill count ya down"
He counts down and we go.....We both took off right away, neck and neck we were goin good. as i shifted into second I started gaining a lead. then to 4th (cuz no 3rd lol) and smoked her and won. Then I hear her redlining....WTF!! we come to the end and she goes "I forgot to shift it out of first!!!!" I wanted to say...are you frigin stupid...but I just said "ok lets do it again"
SO we line up again....the kid comes out and counts us down AGAIN. We both take off neck and neck once again. She starts to pull away but as I shift to second, I catch up, Im gaining speed, I start to pass her. I then shift into 4th and get an even bigger gain on her, now smokin her once again. By then end of the race I ended up spankin her with at least a 1/2 a car length win...which is good enough to me for my first drag ever. Especially since it was a 3.4 and mines a 2.5 DOHC(with no 3rd gear):thumbsup: Tha SHO was :owned:
