I went to the Test and Tune on Sunday and i finally broke into the 12's!

It was very cool in the morning and i think thats what explains my trap speed (i usually trap 107.xx). This was my first time on slicks so i'm still learning how to launch the thing hard. If i can pull a 1.8 60' im looking at around a 12.5 or 12.4 run AS IS. With a set of JWT camshafts, upgraded fuel system, FMIC and a good launch i think 11's is possible. Let me know what you think!

Thanks! Not too many. There may be one or two other ones in MA but i think they are Classic SE-R's (1991-1994).

Haha thats funny. It has an SR20DET swap, Jim Wolf ECU, 3" exhaust, Walbro fuel pump, Prothane motor mount inserts, Nismo adjustable fuel pressure regulator, Joe P MBC, ACT clutch, lightweight flywheel and some weight reduction. I was extremely suprised at at what kind of numbers can be put down in this car with the small T25 turbo.

I got the run on video, but i need to go buy the firewire cable to transfer it onto my computer. Then i'll have it up for everyone to see. I raced a Ford Torino (so i was told, i didn't recognize the car because im not into American cars) that ran a 13 flat. I think he was pretty suprised :)

I'm also wondering the same thing, but also is this the same turbo that comes off the S15? I know those have a T25 exhaust housing and a t-28 compressor and is ball bearing as well.

well if this is the same t-25 that is the stock dsm turbo, why not spend an extra 100$ and get a 14-b, much more power to be made w/ that turbo and is almosta direct bolt up as the t-25, should see a good 30-50 or so hp especially w/ the supporting mods u have!! and very cheap too!!

This T25 comes stock on the Bluebird SR20DET engines. Its not off the S13. I was running 12psi through the motor. The car weighs an estimate of about 2200lbs.

Cool. I ran the 12.8 for my first run. My other runs weren't as good (12.9, 13.1, 13.4). Which car were you racing?

13 lbs at redline on a t25 should be blowin hot air.

Thanks man  , ya I was in the 81 malibu, it like a bronze-maroon color. I saw your 12 sec runs, cause I can remember thinking I couldn't believe that it ran 12's. I found that the good weather was offset by the strong head wind. I was about .1 and 1 mph slower then I should have been.

To be technical ... all turbos blow hot air :-)

Regardless awesome times man. However to Bren's point you definitely could use a turbo upgrade. How much lag you getting on that t25? Around 3,000 ... probably a little less I bet.

haha the long used term for a turbo being out of its efficienty range is "blowing hot air"

although spencer might come and hear and argue how his friends ko3 jetta pushed 24 psi at redline.

I know of people making 270whp and 280tq with my mods + more fuel, fmic, cams and 15psi. I tend to agree with you that my setup is maxing itself out (fuel for sure, i need larger injectors and a larger MAF). I do however think that the turbo has a bit more juice left.

I reach full boost at about 3,100. My goal for this project was to run 12's with the quickest spool possible. I think i've achieved that :)

But like i said, if i could pull a better 60' my times will float around the mid 12 range.

yeah, and that jetta reached full boost at like 1500 rpms. lol, gotta love a turbo the size of a midget's fist that spools instantly.

Ok, now I am wondering how your turbo compares to the T-28 found on the S15?

Smaller of course. I'm not all that familiar with the turbo's on rwd det's. I know about turbos from the fwd det's. I bet that turbo is similar to a gti-r T28.

nice dude i love this car.

i got a couple turbos here i have a t3t4 with a 48 a/r that would support some good boost and spool nicely.

Yep Jake is right. It still looks pretty stock on the inside (besides taking the pass. seat and rear seats out when racing). All the panels are there, however everything under the dash is gone, everything in the trunk is gone, all a/c components are gone (60+lbs right there), heater, blower, windshield washer system, jack, spare, radio, speakers. The car still has tow hooks on which is a good 4 or 5 lbs each (there are 4), front and rear bumper supports are also still on. I think i can still shave another 100 lbs off without anyone noticing. Theres a bunch of other stuff i took off but i can't remember. Various metal brackets and such that were there to hold in things i took out. It's not my daily driver, so im able to do all this and not care about being cold and being annoyed by the exhaust drone.
