I got into a race with an camaro and I want to know what you guys think of this...

so I'm driving my friend geof home and this car with BRIGHT ASS HEADLIGHTS comes up behind me so I move over and geof goes "oh shit!" and I look and it's an LS-1!. so I'm thinkin great...another loss. so he downshifts before I do and we take off. I was even with him till fourth then I power shifted into 4th and I was pullin on him! I was definitly walkin him! then a funny thing happend. his exhaust went from bwwahhhhhhhhh to bwwaaahhhhBBBBWWWWWWAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHAAAAAA AAAAAAAAAAAAA like ear shatterin loud and he started walkin past me till he put a car away from me and his back bumper and flashed the hazards. I wanted to ask him if he had N2o but geof asked him if he was supercharged (no whine would be a dead giveaway!) and he replied that he was Naturally aspirated. he did say that my car was pretty sick but then he sped off and I couldn't catch him.

one v8 minded friend said it was most likely juiced, another v8 minded friend of mine said it wasn't n2o but rather a turbo350 tranny or something. or he downshifted if it was a 6speed. My argument against that is there was no like pause it went from being loud to totally obnxious.



just so you know, I'm not makin excuses for losing. I just want to know what was done. If he did use n2o That makes me feel better that I at least scared him enough have to use it :)

I think the guy has an electric cutout, I have one and it takes less than 4 sec to completely open. I think he was fuckin with his switch and wasnt fully on it, then it was open and he romped past ya.

Depends, if its 175 shot rated at the motor it should handle it fine, there are guys running 150 shots rated at the rear wheels with ease.

If this guy is going to have a heads/cam without a tune its a toss up. The stock tune could handle it, or itll comepletly fuck his shit up. Itll most likely throw a misfire code a pull power.

I trapped 108 with a lid and a catback almost all stock 6 speeds trap 106 and auto's 104. Most likely it was a lid and catback with a ecutout. ecutouts over crappy catbacks can gain 15 rwhp so that would explain the pull on ya.

You'd give alot of stock ls1's a whooping. Most stock ls1's do mid 13's at 105 106 not to many poeple drive them to low 13's high 12's.

The vast majority of stock LS1's are trapping 103-104 and ET's are 13.2-13.5, depending on the driver and gears. This is very general as some people have put them into the 12's but on the average that is what to expect. They seem to do better up top than down low.

ill race the neon i only trap 109 your trap wont go up if you spin. Spinning will acctually lower your trap. think of it if you spin right your staying in that gear winding it out till you hook slowing you down. if you shift you most likely bog thus slowing you down more.

When I had my Daytona Shelby on street tires I bested a 14.24 at 99.42 with a 2.33 ST.
With slicks I bested a 13.68 at 99.28 with a 1.89 ST.
The ET improved greatly & the trap speed only slighly increased.

BTW the car weighed 3100 lbs with me in it (170 lbs) & made 220HP/320T & nothing changed but going from street tires (Dunlop SP9000's) to slicks (M & H).

Depends on where the cut out is. If your turbo is a manifold mount then you put the cut out right after the turbo yes a decent gain I would say about 2mph in the 1/4. There is also some company's making cutouts that work on springs so when you boost it opens.
