WRX vs. SRT4 vs. 350Z

all cars were stock.

First run, i chased an srt4 down and cought a 4 way light with him YES. This would be my first launch ever and i was afraid i was either going to bog/break something. So i brought the revs up to like 4000 (people say 5200) and slipped it out quickly (with some clutch stink) and put like 3 cars on the srt4, all i saw was him spinning BAD and some wheelhop, own3d by fwd life. Put like 2 something cars on him by 80 and shut down. He gave me the ricer fly by and took off.

next was my friend in a 350z 6 spd touring edition (lightest). Went from a light, he jumped a little right after the opposing light turns yellow and gets a good launch and between me going when the light turns green and him jumping we were about even after my mad tyte awd launch. Dead even through 1st and 2nd, then into 3rd he slowly started to walk me steadily. We also went from a first gear roll with the same result. I will have my revenge next week with full exhaust ;)

His 350z ran 14.3@101 with 2.4 60 ft at epping the other night

350Z is a respectable car. WRX is also a respectable car. Yet SRT4 is just plain stupid. Neons were never meant to be fast or any competition then they come with the neon that does mid 13s. Bah Leave neons for people who cant afford a real import.

And the tempest was meant to be a family car, not to have a 389ci motor stuffed into it. Dude, the whole muscle car era was derived from making normal cars into stupidly fast cars. You obviously are new to the whole car scene, otherwise you would realize as such. The SRT-4 is a perfect example of new american muscle.

hmmmm I believe in the scca the neons dominated group5 (first AND 2nd place) and when neons first came out they were the prefered compact for road racin and autocross.

not all sports cars are meant for the straight line (although the SRT-4 is) oh and how come the 350Z gets props and not the srt? the SRT is faster.

because in the 350 you can do more than drag racing, it handles well, srt-4, from what i understand, doesnt handle that great, im not really a fan of srt4's either :eh:

ok so since you're not a fan, you give no respect? ok. FYI you can do more in a neon than dragrace. with MILDLY priced mods you can outhandle a Z. Yes yes I know "the 350 is stock" but the 350 is slower than the srt as well. and for less money. it's only a neon :)

nah,i guess i respect it, i mean its a entry level sports sedan, its fast, but everything else about the car is lame to me, its deffinitly the new dsm, meaning in 5 yrs you wont find one that hasnt been beatin the shit out of, there still neat i guess, id deffinitly never buy one though :blush:

if they styled the srt4 a bit better I might like it but with an american name gone Riced out like neon it will never be respected in my book. sure there fast but american cars shouldnt have body kits, duck fart exhausts, and drawing going down the side of the car. Thats my main reason behind not respecting it. It just doesnt look like a fast car but they made it to be one. The 350 Z looks awesome and has some power to back up its exotic look. Im sorry but the words AMERICAN and SPORT COMPACT shouldnt be used in the same paragraph. Id rather own a 350Z or STI anyday. Why? Cuz theyre styled as good as they run down the track and handle better from what u guys say.

actually the neon doesn't have a ricey exhaust at all, its a straight pipe cuz da straight pipez got dem mad flowz.


turbo car......zero back pressure is the golden rule, hence why its loud an obnoxious, but not ricey.

huh?ok so my exhaust pops...zero back pressure is the golden rule like he said, also Mine is the only one with drawing on the side (around here anyway.) the body kit is to make it look good. chicks dig it. also America, is trying to get into the sport compact scene. see any other american cars in the sport compact scene giving the STI's, the WRX's, and the evo's something to think about? Didn't think so. Most people say "oh neon, those are gay, why did they make it fast it'll never beat a honda." Those people are ignorant. DId you know Neon's have had a prominant racing history in the SCCA? Did you know my neon does 13.3's on street tires for $1400 with traps excedeing 107? there is something to be said for a 20G car with a g and a half for mods. no it's not a camaro, or a mustang. it was not designed to compete with them either.

muscle cars are big, handle like SHIT, are rwd, heavy as fuck, have big motors, and are straight line fast, the srt-4 isnt big, doesnt have a big motor, and isnt fwd, its not a muscle caer by any means, its a cheap car made so chrystler can be accepted into the "import" crowd, there so uncool though




p.s.- you guys who have srt-4's need to decide weather its considered a neon or not, ive pissed off more than one fan by saying its a neon, made up your fucking minds

well he paid 20gs for a 13 second neon. I could pay 10 for a 10 second eclipse gsx which gets my praise long before the neon. Either way theres no need to get our feathers ruffled over it. Opinions are like assholes everyones got one and it sometimes smells like shit.

Either way Im sure youve surprised quite a few road racers with your neon. For god sakes at least de badge the thing and make it a sleeper if your gonna race.
