On the way to the track there is a sign on the highway that says, “road work,” so I slow down a little, then there is a sign that says, “bump,” so I look ahead and my life flashed before my eyes. To say the least when I came down on that bump it was like hitting a speed bump at 50MPH my whole front suspension maxed out and the k-member slammed off the pavement. When I got to the track I took a quick look and there were the typical road rash slices on the k-member, so no serious damage.
Run numbers one 13.2 @ 120 32PSI in the BFG’s, didn’t hook up in any gear, so I was pretty much running at half throttle until the top of 3rd and into 4th, I wasn’t too disappointed with this run.
Run number two 15.8 @ 65 15PSI in the BFG’s, hooked well, thought this was my rock bottom 12 high 11 run, I go for the power-shift to 3rd and somehow I end up in 5th, so I popped it to neutral and rolled through the traps. The 60’ on that was 2.0, which is hands down my best 60’ ever, last month I was pulling high 12’s on 2.4’s.
Run number three 15.2 @ 106 another pretty clean run until the mid track, hooked well off the line, got second good at about 3/4th throttle, hit third and just as I started to go WOT at about 5000RPM it broke loose and I was close to 45 degree angle going about 90MPH, corrected and rolled through the traps
Run number 4 VS Adam 14.8 @ 102 Adam ripped me out of the hole, had me by like 4 cars I spun through every gear, in 3rd I was at ½ throttle and was still fishtailing all over the track. I just said the hell with it, put it in 4th, which ended up being something like 3000RPM, and floored it and edged Adam out by about a car.
To top off a perfect night we go to a bar for some drinks, I pull into the parking space and crash into a curb.. PERFECT

figures the one run i get against you i grind second.. wtf.. couldnt have been one of my 3 other 14.1's huh? ya bad traction again last night, towards the end of the night i was heatin up the tires more in the stage and got my 60's down a to a 2.2 but still not good enough for my 13.. i guess i gotta go on a sat for the better prep to get my 13.. maybe just have to go and order my o/r x and springs as rims are lookin a lil farfetched right now due to financial issues, might as well get the power for now then looks, 13's will be mine damn it!!!

Why don't you get a crappy set of v6 16'' rims for 50 bucks and throw et streets on them. ET streets cost a lot less than your bfg and they would actually hook.

I don't want to bust up my half shafts, but that might be a good idea. I'll see what I can find online.

just to let you know heating up street tires is fucking stupid. Actually makes them worse and all you have to do with a regular street tire is spin them once to get the rocks and debris off.
Brad are you doing a burnout before you go youhave drag radials that means you have to heat them the fuck up to make them even worth having.

yes, bfgs need a 15-20 sec initial burnout and then 5 sec burnouts between runs.

I run nittos Dr's and still cut 1.7 60' in a 6 speed..One big burnout in the beginning and then basically cleaning them off the rest of the runs is all I do. You heat them up to much they get greasy fast, as do et streets

No i've never heated up my tires, I ordered a line lock this week, it should be here next week, jimmy and I are going to install it when it comes in and we're both free.... then I'll go back to the track to try for some clean runs, although my bfg's are on their last legs.
I'm not a fan of side stepping the clutch and boiling the back brakes.

I have consistent 1.9-2.1 60ft times with 275-40-17 bfg drag radials. Good times can easily be done with them. I have also got a bit sideways in 3rd going down the track with them. I am sure people with power like yours/mine have done better times than you/me on bfg's. :eh:

Yeah I'm sure they're good tires.. I've never taken the time to stage them up though. I'll be seeing how they do as soon as I install my line lock.

Believe it or not I havent staged them either . I get a 2 or 3 second burnout and stop becuase my car starts moving too much. Line lock would definately help. I would like to see how these tires work after heating them up!!

Yep, I tried side stepping once at the track and I got wheel hop, maybe a 2 second burn out. Line lock should be key, they're on ebay for 100 look it up.
