just out of curiostiy , why would u bring passengers in the car with you if u are trying to run 13's and need all the help u can get ?

Adam

cause i drove all the way up there just w/ my girl and she wanted to go with me,and iwanted her to go too, then after the 3rd run i was like get out i want to try and get some low times, and she was cool with it, i didn't want to make her sit there by herself, so i got 3 quick runs in after that!!! got better every time!!! so next time i will get alot of runs in just myself and practice my launch, and get my 13's:thumbsup:

If you can get your sixty foot times down where they should be you can hit mid 13's easily.

No, but they can make it go quicker.

Yeah, but it's a street car...the springs should be picked with street driving in mind, not launching...thats why I'm more concerned with faster than quicker.

That isn’t even launching… You need to do 5000rpm and then VERY QUICK (almost side-stepping it) clutch release!!! 2200rpms is just a leisurely drive!

A very average AWD DSM launch is usually in the 1.7-1.8 range. A bad launch would be in the 1.9-2.0 range. Anything above 2.1 in an AWD is not even trying…

The good news is that with a decent launch (1.8 sec), your trap speeds are good for mid 13’s and with a VERY good lunch (1.6-1.7 sec), can give you low 13s!!!

Do you still have a restrictor in your clutch line?

u might be thinkin he went up in his DSM. he's talkin about his Cobra here, and i dont know of too many RWD V8s that like being launched at 5000rpm w/out some suspension work and sticky tires.

Gee, I wonder where I got that idea? :) Nothing in this post suggests otherwise….
