You car is high milage... after 100K miles, the car will NOT run stock times. Of course, with some small mods (exhaust, quick tune, CAI, etc), you can run 13's.

i didnt mean stock i meant those are the normal times for the impalassforum people with cars ranging from 60 to mostly 150k

with exhaust and a pcm reprogram i can be into the 14's very easily, low 14's

Eh, don't believe everything you read. I have seen many caprices run at NED... Very few are in the 13's, some are in the 14's (cam, exhaust and tune) and the rest are in the 15's and 16's. Getting into the 13's more or less requires tires, cam, exhaust (with headers) and a tune.

16's are very uncommon for lti caprices, it may have been a 305 or such but its very uncommon, just saying stuff, not trying to argue with u:thumbsup:

$10 sez you will pull a 16 at the track...

I'm not trying to argue either, just being realistic.

But, with some practice, i think you may be able to pull off a 15.

tracks are closed true? any other way i could figure it out, when i raced that kid my mph hit about 93 or 94 some where there, ive done many changes since then i honestly will but my 2 cents that i will run in a 15 somewhere

ive done mmuch research on this

iono dude im so

research means very little from the real world perspective. Ask anyone who tries and runs a Z06 vette. Or an LS1 f-body. Or a lot of other cars. Most of the "researched" times are with awesome drivers. Ask brad. he pulls 14.1@121mph... I've personally been to NED to see a lot of these cars run. Like I said, with some practice, you could hit 15's no problem. 14's with exhaust work (frees up a LOT of HP). it all depends how strong your engine is. and how strong your tranny is... ask matt about that... LOL. One of mine and one of paul's cars RIP. Matt's is a dog. All tranny...

Honestly, I think your car is probably a 15.5sec car. As it sits now. Freeing up the exhaust is a HUGE mod for those cars. Dual 3" should do it. After talking to a few people who KNOW these cars... follow my recipe in the other thread.

Hey Glen, keep in mind that at the track your trap speed is an average over a set distance at the end, not your exact finish line speed. Mid to low 90's would have you well into the 13's and we all know your not quite there yet.....

11-18-2003, 01:14 PM
wat matt of course i am, im running stock 13's in my boat, lol no i know that trap speeds are average and the whole story behind them, jay i agree with u on ur last post

go there. register. look for me under "ner947". i've been there for about a year now, my car would be absolutely nothing if i didn't find that board. since you have a 2GNT, don't waste your time with any other DSM forums, trust me.
