Blue viper GTS downtown?

Anyone see a blue viper GTS downtown or at Heberts? Coming back from nats this viper pulled up next to me at a light in traffic, I told him it was a sick ride and we should do a quick run, he told me, “only if you’re got your title on you kid,” I told him, “I don’t carry that on me, but I do have $5 dollars to put on the race.” He said he only races for titles and that’s that, so the light goes green and we’re both easy off the line, I shift to 2nd and gun it and take off, he catches up quickly, paces me, and guns it, I pop it back to 2nd and go, by about 100 I had about 3-5 cars on him. So at the next light he says, “what twin turbo setup do you have,” I tell him, “no TT.” Light goes green, this time we pace each other to 2nd, he gasses it first, then I do, by 3rd I had about 2 cars on him. At the next light we do a fair run from a stop and it was complete murder, easy 5 cars on him by 3rd then I just shut it down. Down the road we meet up at another light and he says, “you’re young and can afford to be stupid, I’m a lawyer and can’t afford to be busted street racing.” With that I gave him a thumbs up and he took the right into the BK. He was a pretty cool guy for sure.

I'm way too much of a fairy to race for slips, I was thinking how cool it would have been to have won a viper though, not that he'd even give up his car.

Argh. Last week there was a 97 Viper that came around and I wanted to race. He thought I was joking when I said: "I am only a 3.0L V6 but we can race from a roll or a dig." :D

Viper owners are arrogant pricks, there is a cop in hull who lives in my town and owns one. He thinks he is the shit and his car isn't even that nice, its all red and whenever I see it I think it needs to cleaned.

its not that he won't race them, its that its pretty hard to find someone who can beat a car that should be running 10s. there are a few around, but brad doesn't like "organized" street racing because he thinks there is a greater chance of getting caught opposed to random street light races. so, what are the chances you will randomly run into a 10 second car on the street that wants to race?

I have a friend that raced for slips once. He has an 86 Iroc that he got into the 10's. He raced a 98 Trans am cause the kid thought ls1's were the hottest things on earth. My friend now owns a 98 Trans am and his Iroc.:smokin:

I know you aren't referring to me. I was so pissed not being able to powershift at 7K. I tried it again that night on my way home and in 2nd and 3rd it won't powershift at 7k, but 3rd to 4th will do it w/o a problem.

That was very aggravating not being able to get the full potential out of it. On the other hand I have almost got launching it on street tires perfect.

I have known how to shift for years and now I can launch the car a lot better too. Now if my car will accept a high RPM powershift I will be ok.

take it with a grain of salt brad...my friends got one with more mods and a kenne bell and over 600 rwhp and with a 1.6' he still only gone 11.0. Some are in the tens but there gutted somewhat and driven hard to the point they break alot just like my cunt of a car:bash:

he obviously doesnt drive it that hard. i agree, if you want the times you have to go hard, but 500rwhp on these cars at stock weight and slicks you should see 10s...not easily but its possible. one problem with these cars is weight...i bet brads is about 3900-4000 with him in it at the track. my dakota r/t weighed that...
