I have been driving my Talon around last couple of days, I should have 60 miles on the new motor. So it is broken in :). I got to do a few last minute changes tonight (turbo, oil etc) and should be ready to race tomorrow.

I had a pretty frustrating night, I blew off my intercooler pipe at the turbo on my first two passes (both were 11.2). On the third pass the pipe held, but I was stumbling through the 2nd gear because it was too rich. Gave a Viper GTS a glance of hope :). But the car finally cleared up in the 3rd and I ran 11.6 at 128 (to his 12.4 at 118). So my trap speeds were coming back!

Traction was gone on my 4th and last run (1.71 60’ time, worst of the night….), but the run felt good until around 1000’ mark, that is when the car started to feel lose and was inching toward the center line. I stayed on it for as along as I felt was safe and left off 60-100 feet before the finish line. Even then, in neutral gear, the car was still all over the place… Usually I catch the ET off the corner of my eye, but not that pass. I was scared $H!TLESS trying to control the car! I mentioned that they might have something on the track to the guy at the end of the track, he told me that it was and that I just “got out of the grove”. I told him that AWD cars do not really have a “grove”, but he didn’t listen… Then I got my timeslip and was pleasantly surprised 10.712 @ 132 with a crappy 1.71’ time and letting off before the end of the track. This I enough to just barely beat my previous best of 10.718, just enough to change my abbreviated ET from 11.72 to 11.71 :).

BTW 5 min later they shut the track down for the night (10 min early) to clean it up… I guess a few others must have similar episodes…

leon i saw when you blew your intercooler pipe off i was going to stop but i didnt know it was you i couldnt hook up all night and i couldnt drive my shifter seems to be loose pro 5.0 i think its on its way out. i could only get a 1.85 spinning though first the track just sucked wednesday.
