umm that time i posted is from a hotrod magazine article in 1996 where they tested the 1996 Camaro SS vs 1996 Mustang Cobra vs 1996 Firebird Formula WS6.

in 1996 the cobra was rated at 305hp, 80hp more then the GTs. thats cause the cobra got the dual overhead cam 4.6L while the GTs got the single over head.

Put the pipe down! 2.6's hahahaha. I've launched at idle, spun through 3 gears and I've yet pulled worse than a 2.3. I can see adam pulling no worse than a 2.1 on his first run.. and on a 2.6 he's not going to be pulling a 14 or low 15.. it will be more like 16's.

sorry, but you are wayyyyy too cocky with the new car. have you ever seen jimmy's time slips? his launches aren't that great at all. esp on the street. the times ive raced him and seen him race he always either spins like a mofo or babied it and gone slow because he was afraid to spin. ive also been told by a couple people that jimmy launched like shit because his tires are bald as shit. so, next time you wanna brag about something, make it something worth braggin about. right now this is like saying that i fucked a 300 pound virgin. sure it takes some skill to get with a virgin, but its not something you brag about to people.

dude if i spin the tires through 1st gear i usually end up right around 2.0 and thats with a truck load more power, sticky tires, and adjustable drag suspension. (if it hooks its in the mid 1.6's)

first pass you make in ANY car with street tires especially is likely to be in the HIGH 2.xx region.

spinning the tires through 3 gears will get you damn close to 3 seconds in 60' times, unless your driving a 9 second car

i would have to say that your car probably has around 280 at the crank and around 240 at the wheels, but there is only one way to find out.


and i would hate to tell you, but i realized after we raced that when i raced my buddy in a '03 GT he pulled on me better and faster then you did and that was when i got a really nice jump on him and had him by like 1.5 cars then he passed me by the top of third. and those cars are recorded as running low 14's on average but have hit 13's with nasty driving and et streets.

It will take you alot longer than a couple of runs to figue out your car and the drags and the street are two totaly different things you guys dont realize how much traction there is up there even on street night.
I could and will never be able to grab on the street but at the track hold the fuck on 1.52s front tires in the air at 11.60s @ 118mph in a 80 mustang gutted with 10pt cage and a 351w. And all I had to do is dump the clutch at 6800.
