Has anyone else notice the problem with NED’s right lane 60’ time indicator this year? I have now heard several people mention that it is reading ~.4 sec slow…
However ¼ mile ET and trap speed seems just fine.

I sure hope not.
I better run better then a 15.6 with a 2.0 60'

I think that you misunderstood me. It would be like you running 15.6 ET with 2.85 60’ time… You would know that something is off, right?
I ran 11.64 at 116 with 2.0 60' time. All of my previous runs had 60’ in the high 1.5/ low 1.6 range. Two runs earlier I ran 11.75 at 115 with 1.64 60’ time.
So my guess is that it is reading slow by around .4 sec.
And it does not happen on every pass, just every now and then. I had several friends with similar strange 60' times.

Wed night I pulled 1.73-1.76 in both lanes all night.... I haven't had a problem "yet".

My sixty foot times have been consistent all season, unless the track prep has been different or there has been an oil down.

Well i wish i was .4 faster than what it says, but i never noticed anything like that.

So, the only thing that I have concluded is that a bunch of my AWD friends had this problem over a span of two weeks or so (in late April/early May). That was when we had our meetings and Import Wars.
I can’t see how this can be an AWD thing, so perhaps it was something wrong with the track during that timeframe.
Whatever it was, I hope that it will not be repeated…

maybe all you guys just happened to run all your bad passes in that lane by chance? :eh:

Highly unlikely, most well tuned AWD DSMs run consistent 1.6-1.8 60' times. You have to do something really stupid to run 2.1-2.2 in an AWD DSM. Sort of like running 3.0 in a RWD. Believe me, you will know it :). And a have a bunch of friends who have ran in that range, while pulling decent ETs.
And there is no way I could have ran 11.64 at 116 with 2.0x 60' time. My previous run was 11.75@ 115 with 1.63 60'...

RR I had the same problem when I was up there in the talon. As my et's got better my 60' got worse. I ran my best time with a 2.2 60' :eh:

Just this Wed, one of my friends had another 2.2 60' time with the same ET as when he had 1.9 60' times. Something is still messed up up there...
I would stay away from the right lane...

why is it that only dsm's are having this problem???
cause ive been racing all season and i havent had one, or seen or heard anyone else talking about it.....matt said he noticed something, but he was in the talon.......
weird......if you drive a dsm, dont go in the right lane i guess?

OHHH WAIT I GOT IT .... THEY ARE LAUNCHING SOOO HARD THERE RIPPING THE FRONT TIRES OFF THE GROUND AND TRIPPING THE BEAMS W/ THE REAR TIRES.

I know, this is really strange… :eh:
Originally I though that this was only because most of the people I race with drive DSMs. Now, I do not know what to think. But I definitely have time slip with a bogus 60’ time…

Very funny
The guy this week was running consistent 1.9’s with an automatic DSM, which is far cry from my high 1.5s/low 1.6s. I would think that our launches must be pretty different.

Well, I talked to Joe L (NED manager), he has not heard of this problem. And he has the benefit of the dozens of bracket racers keeping logs of every indicator.
It is official, we, AWD guys are loosing our minds :). Not to mention figuring out how to brake laws of physics in the process :).

Well, wouldn’t you know it…
Last night, first pass in my friend’s Galant VR4:
Right lane: 12.2 @ 114, 2.3sec 60’
Second pass:
Left lane: 12.2 @ 114, 1.8sec 60’
This happened only one time and no one else (out of 6-8 other DSMs) had that problem.
How it this possible? :eh: :wtf1:

The olny thing I can thibk of is maybe its how your staging the car
Maybe for some reason you stage deeper on one side
That might afect the 60'

Well I raced there on Sunday, ran both lanes all day and never once had a different 60ft. time at all. Think you might be dreming man.
