View Full Version : Denied 11s... Can't Drive... Same Story

I finally made it to the track but there was a chance of a strong thunderstorm. I got there with friggin 1/4 tank of gas so I couldn't run any higher octane. I put in a bit over a gallon of 100 so I had about ~94 octane (Piece of mind). My EGTS *NEVER* got above 900C in the front bank and I had a solid .96 02s across the powerband like I usually do on the street. I only got ONE datalog because the launch would pull that cheap fucking cable out of the palm.

1/2 hour before 1st run and it DOWN poured for 3 minutes and then the sun came out. It was 80 deg and the track BACKED, the humidity was terrible. I don't know if it was the temp, the cars, the humidity, etc. but most cars seem to run a bit slower than normal. My friend that runs 13.0x-13.1X in his STI couldn't get better than 13.3 and a Z06 was in the HIGH HIGH 12s.

1st run against a Buick National Turbo

I babied the launch and bogged it

2nd run against BIG_BALLER

12.45 @ 111.27MPH @ 15.6PSI

I tree'd him, 60'ed him, and put over 3 seconds of ET on him. What an awesome sight to see 2 GREEN 2nd gen 3000GTs going at it especially since I 0wn3d both at one point The launch was so so. The tires barked and the car didn't seem to level out put decently pull through. Best launch with the 15Gs so far.

3rd run against a WS6 w/ MTs/H/C/BoltOns. He appeared to be the fastest "street" car there

12.18 @ 112.93MPH @ 16PSI

Great race! He redlighted but ran a 12.28 @ 112.28MPH. I came out of the hole strong with a ton of tire spin but the car actually felt nice.

4th run against the same WS6
1.95 60'
12.4 @ 113.13MPH @ 17.4PSI

I bogged the piss out of the launch. That's all I will say to that

Oh. I weighed the car. It came in at a staggering 4,080LBS. I am keeping my AC thank you :)

Ahh you bogged the last one ... that's what killed your MPH ... I bet you would have cracked 115 if you hadn't bogged ...

I had a better launch and .5PSI the 2nd run and got a lower trap.
I had a much better launch and 1.2PSI then the 1st run and only gained .6 MPH in trap? Also, you're at 118MPH+ at 18.4PSI, my 17PSI even with a bog is a shitty 113MPH. Something doens't add up.

You could be right but the car either roasts the tires or bogs. No f'ing middle ground$*@#(@(

I also hit 117.9 at 17.0psi and 118.1 at 17.7psi :D ... then again I have a significantly better launch than you do and that is hurting your traps as well. In fact I was experiencing lots of blowout so I probably should have been trapping higher (my plugs died that night at the track). Then again DR650's are fucking total animals. Until you can get a 1.7 60' I wouldn't worry about your traps so much.

dont bitch about humid air, jsut turn up the boost, force inducted motors LOVE wet air.
