Um ... actually Jay ... we have the same block. Lots of minor differences (DOHC 4 valve vs SOHC 4 valve, forged crap, etc ...) ... but in the end they are the same. In fact you can pretty much drop a VR4's engine right into a 3rd gen eclipse ... hehe. :headbang2
Feral - from what i hear, the stock internals on the 3g are forged and handle boost pretty well something like 10 psi. Although they are a better candidate for a vortech rather then a turbo kit do to the cooling system and such not being up to par with a vr4 to handle the temperatures.
Bottlebird - thanks for the welcome, i hesitated for a while i figured i wasn't allowed since im a "honda fan boi" and a mod over at BMS.
era era Ken, we will get more of the catholic high school chick goodness in that eclipse, girls love that car, couldnt tell you why :eh: , btw hows your italian? mines pretty good. http://www.click-smilie.de/schnellauswahl/liebe028.gif

That I know... Same block but different enough to say the stealths engine is better... LOL. I was just teasing him, cuz he has the bastard twin brother engine.

im sorry that you're retarded lol. an SHO motor is better in every way then the mitsu motor, toss two turbos on the SHO and see what it will do.

its been done. if you want to run a lot of boost you need to swap to custom pistons as the comp ratio is 9.8:1 stock. but once you do that it will take 15psi, more if run with a freon intercooler and race gas.

Yeah, but you defeat the point of the intake if you boost it... Thats the best part of the car. Once you delete that (cuz it is retarded with boost), you take away all the coolness of the boat motor.

it doesnt take away that entirely, you still have the secondaries rigged to open at 4k. and boost never defeats anything, just helps it along

Yeah, but boost works better with the shortest runner length possible. Just the way it is. I would personally stroke out the engine and port out the intake... Make it rev to 9K and have a mean N/A engine. One hell of a highway car.

you dont have to do shit to make it go to 9k, just get UDPs because you'll kill the water pump and alternator if you try to do it stock, not sure if the 5 speed has a rev limiter in it, a chip would be a great idea either way along with an 80mm MAF. dont you worry, between all of us, it will be sweet till he blows it up.

exactly what i would do, that engine is like a weak sauce 2.5 Liter feel Low end with a VTEK like top end, great compromise for an engine.

you are soo wrong its incredible. the bottom end of the 3.0 and 3.2 are made by yamaha, has nothing to do with the 2.5 ford POS. the bottom end is indestructable, the only thing that an kill it is running with no oil or juicing the shit out of it with no other mods.

The sho motor is better in every way than the Mitsu motor??
Absolute bullshit. There are several 3S's running around with 750 crank horsepower without ever touching anything in the longblock ... stock heads, cams, crank, pistons, rods ... and they are fucking daily driven. Fuck when running full boost my car puts out about 650 to the crank ... has 125,000 HARD miles on it ... and still runs like a fucking demon. I've only heard of one or two Sho motors with anything near that level of power and they have always been fully built from the bottom up.
Fact is the variable intake runners FUCKING SUCK with boost on them ... the first thing I'd do to the SHO if I was boosting it would be to get rid of the intake altogether and just go with a short/fat tank on top. Turbos hate long runners, causes turbulence in the air delivery.
Every that works for N/A does NOT work for boost ... just look at aggressive N/A cams with like 50* of overlap and shit ... put that on a boosted motor and watch all your air and fuel just blow right through your cylinder and combust in your exhaust manifold ...
And everything is destructible.:headbang1

blah blah blah, i was trying to argue with jay and bust his balls, stay out Mr.Iknoweverythingaboutmotors. the SHO was made to be a great daily driver that lasts forever and is NA. the mitsu was made to be boosted and does one hell of a job doing that.
and yes, even stealths are destructable, the curb showd us that

dickhead, i know the size of a sho motor, but it does not feel that size, the low end sucks for an n/a 3.0 and feels more like a 2.5 v6 in the probe. Maybe its the stupid intake manifold, or the dohc part. But the SHO top end is awesome.

SHO > mitsu for N/A.... They really designed an AWESOME engine. The intake is something to marvel at. For boost, it would suck. But for a stock engine, with no boost, it is really something tom stare at and say "WOW!"

And then you got the bitch over 5000rpms and found out ...
yeah a v6 with a VTAK-like top end makes me soil myself.
that car was like deceptively fast, it would screw and make all the right noises and then it would blaze through the 1/4 mile in mid to low 15's :wtf2: , but they boot on the highway for some reason

Technically, the cyclone 4g63T's have variable intake runners, and it works well in an all stock application. Kind of makes up for the 7.8:1 compression ratio. :eh:
