Hey guys, I need a little help with my stupid GMC Jimmy 4x4. It has a couple odd things.

The turn signals. The right side works fine, when I put the switch to turn on thr right side, it's fine, all external lights flash, and the dash light flashes. When I switch it to the left, the flasher itself clicks, but there is no dash light, and no exterior lights flashing. When the hazards are turned on, the right side is fine, and the left is blank. I found a purple wire coming from my fuse box corroded and not connected to anything, and I could not find where to connect it.

Next:

There are no factory radio wires. The person before me hooked up this contraption where the power wire plugs into this port named "batt" on the fuse box, and the acc wire goes to a port called "ign". I know what IGN and batt mean, but when I connect the radio this way it does not turn on. How can I figure out where the factory wires went? Where do they come out of the fuse box?

Thank you in advance.

hey man i am not near u so i cant just take a ride .but will give ya some help

not sure what year your truck is if new style or older style . but take a test light and test the 12v if the light stays on all the time then hook that up to yellow off radio . the IGN if that lights up with key on hook that up to red off radio . then ground the radio from the black wire and your radio should work

yes, the batt has to be constant power, and the ign is switched...you can hook them both up directly to the battery, just don't leave the radio on...when are you gonna be around? i know cheby trucks and i could check it out for ya....

This could be straight out of my ass but when I bought my Jimmy I was looking around and read someplace that there was a problem out of the factory one year involving signals and hazard lights.. what years your truck?

Actually there is no factory radio wiring in there, the guy ran all his own for the radio.

unless it had a radio delete plate? the radio wires ARE there tucked up under the dash somewhere, otherwise just run it out of the heater control from the fuse box, or into an ACC terminal (one spade next to a fuse)

about the turn signals, one wire controls everything, i cant recall the color coming out of the column, just chekc for continuity between the power in to the switch, and the left turn power out. the flasher should schematicly be before the switch as its a common flasher for both sides, the problem lies somewhere on the output side of the switch, which could be in the column, or at the fuse box or anywhere before the tail- light harness splits off. i think the colors of the wire may be either dk blue lt blue yellow or green.

i went over today and helped him out...i put the radio power wires together so its always hot, no biggie, just remember to shut it off...

for the blinkers i just started rattling around wires and took out the module and put it back in, and the front one worked, then cleaned out the socket in the back and it works now too...i think the dash bulb is just burnt out...whoever owned that truck before was a hack and on all the lights theres 3M connecters going everywhere
