Guys,

I know a few of you have Dakotas/Durangos. The front brakes on my 2000 Dakota are on their last legs.

While I'm putting new ones on, are there any decent upgrade kits that aren't that expensive?

Thanks!

NOPE lol. you can get the basic cross drilled and slotted rotors with better pads, but they're the same replacment shit you can get for any other car. i know a guy who makes viper adapter kits, but its $750 for the install kit, plus about 700-800 for take offs off a viper. BUT it will be the best $1500 brake system you ever buy. do you have rear disc or drum? the kit is a full conversion to put the rear discs in, not sure if they have a kit for dakotas that have rear disc already .

That price actually isnt that bad, consider the size of the stock brakes. Most baer kits for normal cars (13+") are around $1300... So... Again, not a bad price.

overall for what you get, its a great price. but still not cheap. the install kit comes with the full rear setup for the drum to disc conversion and the front comes will new machined hubs to accept the viper setup, along with other misc shit (bias valve, lines, that kinda shit)

Geez.. with that setup, screw trying to get the brakes on my trailer fixed. I'll just let the truck do all the work! Although, a tad out of my price range.

Do the full size Ram trucks have bigger brakes? I wonder if any of the parts would bolt up and are compatible.

Time to do some research... :)

nope, dakota, viper or ram only. full size have 5 lugs. i think he makes a front only kit if you want me to find out about that. it would probably only be $800-900 for the fronts.
