I am trying to figure out a way to build my own propane injection system. I know the obvious parts, but what can I use in order for the system to only inject propane at certain times/under certain conditions. IE only at WOT.

Chicken, how does your system work? Kurtis?

Thanks in advance.

I would guess that you would use the same throttle switch from a NOS kit. :eh:
The switch can be mounted on your throttle so it only activates at full throttle.

This requires a microprocessor of some kind. This is the key component in all of the kits and is more or less a trade secret. If you want to assemble the kit yourself you will still have to buy this from one of the propane kit distributors.

No its not throttle regulated it is boost regulated. You need a boost switch which then opens the propane.

sounds like you could make it work off any adjustable pressure switch to me

ya the n20 stuff is just a gas solenoid.....it works the same way that the solenoid for the argon or other shielding gas in a welder works.

This is what I love about this board, all these engineers throwing out ideas to help.

So, adjustable pressure switch, and a n2o solenoid eh....

So, adjustable pressure switch, and a n2o solenoid eh.... Yep, adjustable hobbs switch to activate it under boost, a solenoid, a couple of fittings, a propane tank, and an assload or rubber hose  Stop on by and look at my kit anytime, you know where I am :cool2:

wont/can't happen. Me and my friends tried so hard ... we bought one of those camping ones and literally covered it with explosive targets and then shot it with a FMJ 30-06 round from about 200 yards out. The targets all blew up but the tank just started shooting out a 3' jet of flame ... was kind of cool but nowhere near as cool as what we wanted. The movies lie a lot ...

I seem to remember my dad setting up a grill tank at 100-150 yards when i was like 10, then his buddy shot at it with his 308 and the tank shot about 8 feet into the air with a ball of flames. He might have been using a tracer round though.....

i have seen it happen. they do explode.

i plan to do it this summer :smokin:

it was on real tv once i think. you take the tank, light some fire around it, then shoot it with a high powered rifle. the flame catches the gas that shoots out and hopefully the tank blows :)

they dont blow up good, cause there isnt all that much pressure in a grill tank

take a big gas cylinder with like 2500psi in it and try that
