Anyone know if my 2001 Jimmy would have an output in the factory headunit to plug in an amp? I don't wanna take it out until I have to cuz it's annoying putting in the theft codes and crap afterwards.. Getting the truck back the end of this week/start of next and gonna start looking at amps and subs after i buy a replacement for the speaker I already blew.. haha

no,but u can either get an amp that has speaker hook up to act a pre out or u can get an rca-speaker wire convertor from like radio shack or where ever and use that to concert a set of speak.wires off the deck to rcas to ur amp

i beleive its called a Line Output Converter or LOC. i got one from cirtcuity city pretty cheap. it works real good, that way i could run an amp and subs in my grand prix, but not lose the factory head unit with equalizer, 12 disc changer and steering wheel controls.

btw they make a setup so u can keep wheel controls with an after market deck as long as that has a remote...
