These are the rules as they currently stand.
#1. All threads should be started in the appropriate forum. If they are not expect a moderator to move it for you. With only a few forums it should be easy enough to figure out. Read the forum descriptions.
#2. Threads outside of the lounge and arena are expected to stay relatively on topic. Even threads inside the lounge are expected to be civil (the arena has no such stipulation). I don't care about the typical bullshitting we all take part in but if a thread gets off topic for a 15-20 posts don't be upset if a moderator comes along and splits your comments out to a new post.
#3. All pornography is limited to the Arena and Video sections only. Additionally anything that is not PG should be labelled NWS. Moderators will either move or relabel any explicit material they find in the wrong forum or unlabelled.
#4. We cannot have pornography uploads on the new server (this is the server's rule, not mine ... sorry). You can still "deeply link" to pornography (this makes the picture render when you load the NEMS thread) but it has been suggested by our server providers that you instead just post the link and let people explore for themselves. Deeply linking off of a pornography site is theft of a fashion so please don't do this.
#5. Signatures cannot contain anything that would be considered NWS and must be under 640x480 in size.
Those are the rules ... here are my promises to you.
#1. Neither myself nor any moderator/administrator will delete any post or thread that is not highly illegal in nature. If you are the originator of a thread and you want to delete it then you can do this by deleting the first post of the thread. Don't ask a moderator to do it.
#2. The administrators and moderators of this site will maintain neutrality in all matters. While they are free to express their own opinions and potentially get in their own flame-wars ... if it comes to a debate between a moderator/admin and a registered user a second moderator/admin will be called in to arbitrate. There will be absolutely no abuse of powers.
#3. This site will always be free and all scheduled outages will be announced well in advance.
#4. The forums will remain small in number, well organized, and to the point. New forums will only be created as traffic in existing folders demands it.
#5. Members are entitled to moderator protection in the event of hurtful, personal information being revealed on the forums. If a member feels that such information has been revealed they need to contact a moderator or admin and request assistance. The moderator may in fact decide you're being a whiney little bitch and no action will take place ... this power is reserved for serious cases of personal protection ... not the standard issue NEMS hazing.
