anyone have any experience with Eibachs? i need to know if GT front springs are the same as the Cobra front springs. if so their Pro Kit goes 1.5" drop all around. and their Sportline goes 2" al around. plus they have a Drag launch kit i heard....

A 2" drop is too much for the front suspension, if you are doing just springs I would do the 1.5". With 2" you will experience a lot of bumpsteer and understeer w/ the kit. Even with the 1.5" you will need to get a bumpsteer kit or an offset rack bushing kit. As for the understeer you could install taller ball joints to raise it back up where it should be, but I have never done this so I don't know for sure that it would work. Either that or you could save your money for a while longer and get a k member. Most require coilovers, but will give you better wheel base and take some weight off the front end as well as allow for better alignment and ride quality.

well i plan on the k-member..dont know what that will happen though. im REALLY only concered about the back. its REALLY high. i bet there is 4" between the top of the tire and the wheel well.

If your mostly concerned about the back and you looking for a really good launching spring I prefer the Moroso drag springs as opposed to the Eibach drag springs. Also the Moroso drag springs front and back are sold seperate.

I like the look and I like H&R springs and I'm buying some for my current Mustang. But the H&R SS springs are a little unpredictable on a Stang with the stock shocks and struts. Even H&R recommends only using them with aftermarket shocks/struts. Just food for thought.

I think the Moroso are suppose to give about an 1-1.25 inch drop. Also the Moroso's will help ya rear plant better in a straight line than the H&R's. But the H&R give a better handling car so it all depends what your looking for in the end.

1-1.5" is not going to be enough i dont think. and im not an all out hard core drag racer. do u guys think coil overs would be better out back? even for drag racing?

Coilovers will allow for better handling and they are lighter than the stock setup. You can run a higher wheel rate w/ coilovers which helps braking and reduces body roll. They will also help eliminate wheel hop. Many drag racers run the QA1 coilovers and seem to be pleased w/ them.

don't be a jew, you need coil overs. DONT get drag springs, they handle like shit, they're the opposite of what street springs do for handling. if you just need to get the ass end down for now, tim has some lowering springs at his place that we didnt use because they lowered it too much. we could snag those and see how they make it sit and maybe put in some spacers under the springs if its too low. that way you can get coil overs in a couple months.

Coil-overs are always the best option if you have the cash for them.

you're gonna want coil overs later on no matter what, so if you can, get them now while he has them. what are the spring rates made for? is it the standard rate/length that comes with the kit or custom ordered? make sure you ask if its not stated because some people have different springs on them for drag, road race and stereo equipment and dont specify. a basic spring kit is for someone who will just toss them in and leave them, something you will never do lol. also, this way you can get the PERFECT stance. you dont have to worry about "hmm, i wish the front was 1/2" lower" or anything like that.

im not sure on the rate. but u can get ANY rate of spring for like $40 a spring or something crazy like that. lemme c if i can get the "kit"...then i need shocks...

GO COILOVERS

HOW LOW CAN YOU GO NANANAN HOW LOW CAN YOU GO.

why?

because your back is fucking high and your front is stock cobra, you need to adjust the coils to sit lower in the back then the front because they arent the same height

i got the eibach pro-kit and loving it
drop the look and feels better handling wise
but if you are going to get the springs, don't forget to change the shocks/struts, at least the gt stock don't hold with the new spring rates
oh and stay away from h&r, my friend hated his

spark it or park it, brads car looks NICE

i had both pro-kit and h&r sports and h&r were so much better hands down.

Pro kit didnt ride too nice and was too soft and felt "disconnected"

truthfully, you should spend the time and $ to plan out a whole new suspension setup, just going with springs is only doing part of the job.. coil overs, new A arms, K-member, spindles, brakes, etc..

brakes???? are u serious? everyone knows i wanna do a k-member so coil overs are a must up front. im more worrid about the rear. i needs to ride good and still be strip capable.

Finally someone else who thinks the eibach's don't ride too well. I thought I was the only one who thought they rode horrible. H&R are one of the best you can buy, try their sport springs. The supersports give you more drop, but the ride will suffer. As for shocks/struts go w/ bilsteins. Maximum Motorsports will revalve them or sell you ones already done. If you want it to be drag capable then you aren't gonna want to do springs alone. At least get coilovers or if money is an issue go p/u some fox body 4 cylinder springs. Some guys run the v8 fox springs and cut off a coil.

Yours is the car i was referring to. I used different springs in my fox and I just liked it better for ride quality. Yours just felt to soft for my liking and the car just didn't seem to hold the road well.
