bren for your first bike i wouldnt even think about it ...has alot of power is a V-twin so its has TQ ...i would go with a 600 your not that big of a kid so stay on the little bikes until you have some riding under you

yea those bikes are awesome, but not for a first bike especially if youre not a big kid. i would think something like a r6 or 600rr would be sweet for a first bike

yup r6 is a nice little bike for a first bike and it looks real good the news ones like 04 and up
Ive been riding since i was 14 (i taught the massachusetts motorcycle safety training course) I rode a 600RR last summer and it was too small. Most of the bikes i ride now are R1200R BMW or some large touring bike. The only thing im worried about the RVT is the weight. All the reviews i have read of this bike say its kind of small considering the weight - should be just right for me

a 600rr was to small for you ??? honestly man you look like your 150lbs soaking wet i just cant see you taking on a rc51 as a everyday bike .....i mean if you are set on a big bike just remeber is going to be a little quicker with a small kid on it ...also a big bike isnt always better

i dont want a big bike, i just want that one :whip:
a 600rr was fine but felt too stubby short and awkward - id feel much more at home on a 750.
i am 150 but i have a good amount of experience. Problem is the RVT is a good 80-90lbs more then the 600 i used to ride.

youll be straight. My buddy Jay hes also on this website rides an 06 rcfiftyone and the thing is sick. He is probly about the same size as u and weighs about 150-165 and he has no problems. Dont worry about the size of the bike. I got a buddy that just started riding and bought an r1 for his first biek and hes fine rides with us and has no problems. Its all about how stupid u are and how much control u have. I got another buddy who bought a 636 and wrecked it on both sides its all about u and buy whichever one you REALLY want cuz afterwards ull be pissed that u didnt

From what i hear the RC51 is the balls... they are hard to find though and when you do find one the owners want all the money for them... I was looking into getting one and I would expect to pay no less than 7k for one with average miles....

:stupid: my uncle has one, its the balls. I wouldn't recomend it for a first time rider though.

lol I was gonna say, I wasnt at the courthouse
I rode Jay's bike. 06 RC-51.
Its actually very easy to ride. Much safer than a 1k 4 cylinder bike IMO. If you wonna hammer it, you need to mean it and its just as fast as a 4 cylinder bike, but very stable, it wont just rip the front end up when you dont want to. And if you are nice to it, its nice and smooth and doesnt wonna just throw you off the back. And the owner is smaller than you Bren. I say a RC-51 would be very good for you. Dont get a 1000rr, you'll die. That is all lol
