I am in the market for a new or used Crotch rocket.
I really want a honda... if used 929, 954, or RC-51 but if new then a 1000RR. But I also like the GSX-R's and R-1's.... Where is a good dealer that has a good inventory that doesnt hammer you on the prices.

Unless your 400 pounds this bike has all the power you need.. I dont understand why everyone always thinks they need a 1000, the only place you can outrun a 600 is on the highway..

you right you dont always need a 1000 but honestly after riding a 600 for 2 hours one night i got back on my 750 and a night and day difference you have to rev the piss out of a 600 to get the power going ... i love 600's i am thinking about getting one as a second bike to fuck around with but unless its my first bike i would go with something a little bit bigger if you have the expericence ...

on liter bikes the power band is at way lower on the rev band where as on 600's you have to rev past 9k to get to the power band. Thats why on 600's you will see people clutching the shit out of them to pull 2nd gear wheelies where as on a 1k all you have to do is snap the throttle.... I just want a liter bike or close to it because thats what i learned on (cbr 929) and the power really is addicting.

Your prob right, I dont even think I've had my bike over 9k, maybe once or twice out in the middle of nowhere, Its all about preference.
Getting on a bike to begin with is endangering your life so I dont intentionally do things to increase the odds of getting hurt again or killed so wheelies and tricks arent my thing. I just ride for the enjoyment of riding.

Couldn't have said it better myself!! There's even a difference between a 750 and 1000.... both still very fun though! I had mine out again Saturday!

Yeah seriously the difference between a 600 and a 1k is like driving an integra type R and then driving jesse's chevelle.
Sure, if you rev the integra up to 9 grand, it will get up and go, sorta. And you can hang with a lotta faster cars in turns and goin at low speeds on the street messin around.
But if you just roll into the throttle in jesse's car, you're doin a wheelie. And at all times there is more than enough power.
Thats the difference.
And if you dont actually turn hard, go really fast, or do stunts on your streetbike, I have no idea why you dont just ride a cruiser, they're much more comfortable to be on....

it depends on your deffinition of "really fast". i only max out about 150mph top speed, lack of balls not power or gear, i just don't have a cruiser because its nice to take a sharp corner or an offramp at 80mph when you want to, or just punch it quick when the light goes green and be doing over 100mph in 8 or 9 seconds. and i get 40mpg on top of all that. my dad's cruiser gets like 25mpg

No thats totally cool. 100+ is generally considered really fast lol. There are people out there that have streetbikes and never break the speed limit, never lean them down, never do wheelies, and never rev it out....... and then they try to say a 600 is the same thing as a 1000, that pisses me off.

I never road cruisers untill I had already bought the bike, I would prefer a cruiser in a heartbeat, but they are double (and up) the price of what I have... Plus doing that shit is what gets people hurt and sometimes killed.. Is it worth it? Not to me but maybe I'm being a pussy..
Its pretty damn fun, and you have a good platform to do it. I agree, you have a high chance of getting hurt or killed, but thats the case with just about all the crap us assholes do for fun. I dont have a liter bike or bigger because they dont turn in quick enough. On that note, a 600 or 750 is killer. I love cornering with 600s. The 929/954's handle ALMOST as good as a 600. But once I get in a straight line or try to power into a wheelie, the 600 quickly becomes a problem. I'm mad at my 954 because I need to bounce it to get it to ride up a wheelie in 4th. I'm gonna re-gear it lol. But still I guess none of that matters if you dont/cant use it.
I'm not tryin to be a dick or pick on you, just tryin to explain, theres a WORLD of difference between a 600 and a liter bike

I have a bad history on bikes which is definately why I dont do that kind of thing, But if things were different well then who knows.. And If money was no object I'd have a Heritage Softtail fully dressed.. Or a Victory Kingpin fully dressed..

anyone who says a 1k and a 600 are the same, have never ridden them, so you can't take what the say realistically. a lot of people however say that a 1k is near pointless unless you're stunting or drag racing around here because theres no place to open it up long enough to take advantage of it. which i kind of agree with, most people i know have liter bikes just to say they have them and their bike is faster then someone else's. even though they can't launch it for shit.
