yes, you put it in 1st and hit the button, it locks 1st with reverse in the valve body, when you release its already tached up in 1st so it'll just go

it locks 1st and reverse together and when you rev the motor the motor will rev to converter stall speed (the converter MUST be built for a brake or it will explode the 2nd time you use it) when the button is released it allows the fluid to drain from the reverse side releasing reverse and you are off.
