So I bought a Thule SnoPro trailer for my sleds. I bought it while my sled was at the dealer getting some recalls done. Anyways, I go to pick the sled up last weekend, and it doesnt fit in the trailer without taking the windshield off. Even when I take off the shield, it only fits by about 1/2 inch when the cover is closed! :wtf3: So I guess its time to look for another top for the trailer!

You should buy my polaris 340.
It won't solve your problem....you should just buy it. :D
I won't have that problem. Bought a Thule CargoPro 18foot enclosed a few weeks ago (probably same place as you....Atlantic Coast). I could stack one car on top of the other in that thing!

I got the trailer used. I got a killer deal on it. I went to Atlantic Coast and they wanted way too much money for one. It was actually like $600 more than Airport Trailers in Fitchburg for the same trailer.
And I dont think the sawzall would really work too well. :whip:

The thing that sucks is the whole trailer is PERFECT. If i was going to do anything...I would probably just buy a new cap for it and sell the top.

What happens if you bring the sleds back a few inches? Does that give you enough clearance? If so, I'm sure you can modify the stuff on the trailer that holds the sleds down to work.

would they fit backwards?
now that would be a trick lol...how much is it hitting? maybe build somekind of spacer to raise the whole thing up a few inches?

The sled is back as far as it can go. I have about 1/10 of an inch between the cap and the bumper on my sled when I close down the lid. My sled has 128 inch track so it is just a little longer than a regular sled. I would definately not have enough clearance to put the windshield back on.
As for load it backwards, the sled has reverse, but I dont think it would like trying to go up the trailer backwards when its tilted. It would also make the trailer unevenly loaded I would think with the weight of my sled on the back side of the axle. I think the trailer would sway with the sleds like that. I really dont think I would have the clearance anyways backwards.
I was thinking of trying to life the whole cap up a couple of inches but to make it fit, I think it would have to be 8-12 inches at least to fit. Then I would have to find a way to fill in that gap that I would have made with the cap being taller off the trailer.
I think I am going to live with taking the windshield off every time I put it in the trailer for this year. I will probably buy a 3 place v-nose next year.

Just buy a lower windshield. ;)
I might try to do that but i dont know if it will fit even with the lower windshield. The cap almost hits the sled with no windshield on it.

unless you want to build some kind of a bump out of sheet metal and cut a hole in the top, which would probably be the easiest thing and not too bad looking if done right, you could try to make the windsheild easily removable with some type of a finger tight screw.
