i just picked up a 97 zx9 a few weeks ago and have been having some problems with it heating up real fast. i had it on the highway a little bit ago and it still heated up. not sure if anyone has any experiance with this or knows anyone who has had the same problem? any info would be great thanks

Make sure it has the correct thermostat in it and that there actually is one in there.
radiator plugged either externally or internally possibly.

How hot does it get or is it just an idiot light.
i am not big with bikes but water cooling works the same no matter what type of engine I guess.

thanks, today after i posted that i wnet out and tore the bike apart. it looks like the kid that had it before me put that shit in to block leaks in the radiator and there was like a pinhole for the fluid to get through. im in the process of trying to find a new radiator. if anyone has one or knows where i can get one fairly cheap id appreciate the help. ive only been able to find new ones for like $400 so im trying to find somthing used.

take it to the radiator shop, they can probably clean it out for you.
make sure you flushth e engine out good before you put it backtogether

i need a new radiator now anyway, i dumped earlier. im soo happy i was trying to fix it because i had no plasticson teh bike so its not that bad

yeah im fine got a little road rash on my arm, i bounced a little but not too much damage on the bike either because i had just fixed it and didnt put the plastics back on just incase it wasnt fixed. ill get into teh story somtime tomorrow when i have some time.
