Lightning vs 350Z

Heh I haven't had a race in a long time so this was kinda fun. :)

I was heading down 495 to 93 on my way to Best Buy with a friend to check out Xbox games. We get on the highway and notice a 350Z in the middle lane. I roll up next to him in the fast lane and start pacing about a fender ahead. He rolls up and I see him get on it so I nail it from about 65mph. The Truck downshifts and I watch the boost gauge go into the black running 12-13psi.

I watch in my mirror as the 350z starts to fade back, by 120 he is at least 4 truck lenghts behind and falling further. I let off and slow back down to 75 and continue on in the fast lane.

He changes lanes and comes up behind me and starts riding my bumper, I step on it again and take it up to about 100 or so and he is trailing back a few car lenghts. I miss my exit and move over to the middle lane and give a thumbs up, it was dark so I dunno if he did the same or flipped me off :)

Got the adrenalin going and its always fun to beat up on sports cars when your driving a 5K pound truck :)

Nice race man ... up top is the weak spot for those lightnings but you did fine anyhow ... not bad.

In 32 Degree air it pulls pretty damn good up top I gotta admit. The boost gauge was reading pretty high from the cold air. I bet the Z was pretty suprised to see a truck walking away from him at 100+ mph with 2 people in it! :owned:

Damn I love this thing, what was I thinking when I wanted to trade it!! :)

i dont know how you can drive a lightning that does 12.8 on slicks and then drive a cobra and not want to buy the cobra. it does that stock and the top end highway runs are FAST.

Actually the Lightning runs 12.80s on the Stock F1 tires. The Cobra is quick but I already have a car that runs fast. For a daily driver I like the Lightning better, but the utility of it makes it even better. I can Tow, haul things etc etc. Plus the Lightning rides better and I like the inside 100X better.

Just my opinion, If I didn't have a car that was already pretty fast I would probably buy a Cobra.

ahh, didnt realize it was your daily. for a daily the IRS should ride nicer then a lightning, but the interior would have to be better considering how much you look at it.

With an insane driver and traction. My brother beats them with his Cherokee 5.9, its pretty sad.
