so everyone is saying the vert is like 250#-300# more than the coupe. i still want a coupe but all the mags and net sites say coupe is about 3660# and the vert is about 3780#.

how hard to kill the irs for a.........?

stock gears?

stock gears are 355's.

You can replace the irs with an 8.8 in an afternoon. the 8.8 live on the GT is a direct bolt, the only issue is you would need to replace the catback with a GT catback.

I think in the summer I'm going to jack up my car, and my moms 03 GT and make the swap, its all direct bolt from what people tell me.

I like the vert for the summer, you can't beat going up to NH top down and just blasting around the mountain roads up there. The coupe is better for full out performance, but really, how full out are you going to go with the car? A kenne bell coupe and a kenne bell vert is a drivers race. :thumbsup:

well, if he is going to make it fast, he is going to need a rollcage. I am really surprised they havent busted your balls yet about this... its just a hassle he won't have to deal with. if he wants a race car (that's street and track legal) get the coupe. Less worries.

They don't bother me because for some reason they think the saleen light bar is a 2 point, which is fine with me. Yeah, the coupe is def a better platform for racing, I guess it all depends what you want the car for though.

they dont bother you cuz its only ran a 12.8 once and they know better, a 4 point is minimum for all verts running 12.99 and faster.

i think a LOW 12 is possible with no motor mods....

Why would you do that? Its so easy just to put a pulley on the damn thing.

They don't bother me because they think the bar is something its not. I don't know what will happen next time I'm there, but in the past they have said, "ok you got a roll bar, you're good to go."

If you have the driving skills a low 12 is possible stock. People do post slips like that from time to time.

For the record,the Cobra IRS was reverse engineered off of the existing GT platform.It's a direct bolt in.The pumpkin is an 8.8 without axle tubes.
