Last weekend we carried my dad's Triumph out of the basement and on the third kick it started right up (first time in 21 years). It starts smoking after it warms up but we've narrowed that down to the paint that my dad used to paint the block three years ago (must not have been heat resistant).
The only real problem with it right now is that the electrical system is not working. The magneto allows it to run but there is an alternator that runs the lights, horn, etc.... Today we did our bests to test the alternator and it seems to be putting out power. The bike was converted from six volts to twelve volts a long time ago by changing what I believe is the rectifer so the next step is to figure out if that is wired correctly...
